How to get paint off the floor in an entire room?

What is under the paint? That will determine the best way forward.

A good straight flat hardwood floor would best be hand scraped with a good quality sharp scraper (like a plane, but holds the blade almost 90 degrees to the scraped surface).

Anything else would need to be stripped and sanded.

If it is resilient, like linoleum, then strip carefully- test stripper on a spot out of the way and scrape the paint off carefully so you don't gouge it.

I understand the citrus based strippers work well on large areas without too much fuming...

Orbital sander, rent from Home Depot. If you're going to re-paint or put down tile, just rough it up, you don't have to remove it

If you're going to carpet, just leave it.

Otherwise, why would want to completely remove paint off a floor?
Rent a sanding machine.
